Ruby V. McCallister, 83, of Scott Depot
Ruby V. McCallister, 83, of Scott Depot died peacefully Tuesday, October 21, 2008, at Hubbard Hospice House, Charleston, after a short illness.
She was born March 12, 1925 in Witcher and was a daughter of the late William T. and Lula M. White Joyce. She was preceded in death by her husband, Otho C. McCallister; sister, Patsy Rooper; and brothers, Carl and Jack Joyce.
Ruby was a Christian and a longtime member of Teays Valley Church of God and the Young at Heart class.
Survivors include her children, Tom (Joyce) of Scott Depot, Mike (Debbie) of Hurricane and Lucinda (Darrell) Holmes of Friendswood, Texas; her sisters, Ethel Terry, Pauline Porter and Phyllis May, all of Scott Depot; grandchildren, Jeff McCallister, Melinda Owens and Andrew and Emily Holmes; great-grandsons, Aiden and Kieran McCallister and Landon Owens; and great-granddaughter, Riley McCallister.
Services were held Friday, October 24, at Teays Valley Church of God, Scott Depot, with the Rev. Melissa Pratt officiating. Burial in Mount Vernon Cemetery, Hurricane.
Chapman Funeral Home, Hurricane, assisted the family.
