Garnet Marie Hamon Sayre, 83, of Hurricane
Garnet Marie Hamon Sayre, 83, of Hurricane passed away Oct. 5, 2008, in SunBridge Care & Rehabilitation for Putnam, Hurricane, following an extended illness.
She was born April 11, 1925, in Advent and was a daughter of the late Andrew Dexter and Delphia Mundy Hamon. She was a 1942 graduate of Ripley High School. She also graduated from Charleston Business College and was a former employee of Goodwin & Goodwin and the state of West Virginia and also was a former employee of the First National Bank of South Charleston. She was a member of Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 17, Ripley, for over 50 years.
Surviving are her husband of 61 years, James Otis Sayre; son, James Gregory Sayre of Alexandria, Va.; sisters, Jo Crum of Cottageville, Genevieve Casto of South Charleston and Agnes Miller of Russell, Ky.; grandchildren, Alexadra and Kateri; and several nieces and nephews.
Private graveside services were held in Blaine Memorial Cemetery, Cottageville.
